Description
Mindful Stitching, with Michèle Fandel Bonner
Wednesdays, June 3, 10, 17, 2020, 10am-noon each day
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Over the course of three weeks, Michèle will teach you how to make a well fitting mask, and a bento bag, placemat or scarf using materials you have in your closet. Using fabric recovered from your old or damaged clothing we will make the mask (with filter pocket), a bento bag, and a placemat or scarf, using basic hand sewing skills. We will meet online to sew and discuss the benefits of hand-sewing as a creative expression and stress reliever and to get started on the projects. Much of the work will be done between classes. Hand sewing is time-consuming but very relaxing!
Students will need to complete prep work before each class starts in order to get the most from our time together. Materials list, patterns and instruction will be provided before each class. Basic hand sewing skills and supplies are required for this class.
Students can register for an individual class, or bundle all three for a discount.
Week 1: Mask
Week 2: Bento Bag
Week 3: Placemat, or Scarf
Single session cost: $40 for CAA Members, $50 for General Admission
Interested in attending all three sessions? The cost is $100 for CAA Members, $125 for General Admission. Contact Erin Becker at ebecker@cambridgeart.org to register for all three classes.
