Description
New Program!
As we embrace social distancing, and look for creative ways to share art and inspiration, CAA is launching a series of Virtual Studio visits. We will host these visits via ZOOM, allowing up to 100 guests to ‘visit’ local artist's studios, ask questions about the artists work and progress, and share in community, from a distance. For our this Virtual Studio Visit, we are pleased to visit the studio of Lori Lander!
Virtual Studio Visits are free, and open to all!
If you are not already registered in our database, you can close the account login pop-up on the registration page by clicking the X in the top right corner, and then proceed with your registration.

The link to the ZOOM event will be emailed in the morning on the scheduled event date.
About Lori's Artwork: Lori Lander portrays the daily rhythms of women across the world as they work in markets and rice fields and as they take part in local festivals. She is drawn to the strength and grace of these women as they attend to the rhythms and rituals of daily life. Her paintings explore the movement, color and light of their lives through pattern and texture.
About Lori: Lori Lander grew up in New York City and south Florida. Inspired by paintings in the museums she visited as a child, she took her first art classes at the Art Students League of New York, and later studied painting at Princeton University with Frances Barth, at Bennington College Summer Workshops with Carol Herrar and Thelma Appel and in Boston with Joel Janowitz, among others. The images in her paintings are drawn from travels to Africa, Asia, Central and South America, Europe and the Middle East since 1978. In addition to her painting, Lori is a community activist and volunteer. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Cambridge Arts Council and the Board of Trustees of the Cambridge Community Foundation. She co-founded Many Helping Hands 365, a civic engagement non-profit, that (1) organizes an annual MLK Day of Service involving 3000+ volunteers, (2) organizes an annual faith, community and public health driven Gun Buy Back program and (3) created and maintains a volunteering website and handbook for the Cambridge community. Lori has lived in Cambridge with her husband Eric since 1981. She has three adult children – Jessica, Daniel and David. And, a wonderful dog – Mochi.
