About Jennifer LaMontagne
Jennifer LaMontagne is a fiber artist and embroideress. She explores line, form, and color through her works of art. Texture, dynamic compositions, and memories are the driving force behind her creations.
In her most recent works, she explores abstraction and vibrant colors through the traditional art of embroidery. Jennifer received a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of New Hampshire. Her training as an oil painter, informs her embroideries as she composes juxtaposing stitches, colors, and shapes on fabric. The colors, shapes, and compositions of each piece are inspired by memories from her childhood and adulthood. She is drawn to embroidery, especially discovering its place in the world of fine arts as a woman.
